Hi all! This is Dana (GSC Comms Director). I loved getting to meet so many of you all at NeMLA this year!
I wanted to create a thread for immediate post-event discussion. I know that I always mean to make notes about a conference as soon as I get home, and never do. Hopefully this will help us all prepare even better for future conferences.
In terms of GSC, I agree wholeheartedly with everyone who said they wished we would have had a cost-sharing thread up earlier. I agree so hard that I made this board as soon as I got back home. This way, whenever people are ready to start talking about sharing rooms, sharing shuttles/rides, etc, we can do that PRIOR to making purchases.
We also got positive feedback about GSC members wanting to help plan (and even chair) GSC-sponsored panels next year. I've already started a thread for those talks to happen in an organized fashion.
But for the moment, I wondered if anyone wanted to reminisce, share tips, vent, etc. Do you have a travel tip to share? Do you have a clever way to plan out what panels to hit? Did you hear a great paper and want to make sure everyone knew about it? Was there any panel that was really well organized, or did you see anything that really worked for you?
